Hi people *paused*, ahh ... I think I'd better go straight to the main point =).
Today I wanna blog about my home country, Vietnam. I hope it won't be boring to you guys. Please be with me!!!!! Even I myself found some new and strange things happen in VN, specifically my city - Ho Chi Minh city.
First of all, allow me to share the previous Noel season atmosphere in Ho Chi Minh city a.k.a Sai Gon a.k.a where I had been staying for 15+ years.
They are selling season cards on the street. Trust me, the cards are very expensive!!!
This is the church where Mother Mary "cried" a few years ago!!!
One special thing going on in Sai Gon now is that the temperature drops this year, at this very moment. While Brisbane, Aus - where I'm staying - is experiencing the crazy heat of Summer, or other countries are enjoying the warmth of Spring, Vietnam is in a cold season!!! Which is ... absolutely weird!!!! T_T ... Well, it's not that cold until negative something degree Celcius, but compared to the past, this year is cold (or "cool", if that's what you wanna think ==") ...
I never experienced something like that while I stayed in Sai Gon. I mean I never had the feeling of wearing jackets walking on my beautiful city's streets with my friends. I never heard someone calling me and telling me :"Rita, I'm so cold, gimme a hug!!!!". I never had any chance to wear boots in VietNam. I never had to turn off the air-con in my car when I went out with mom. I never resisted eating ice-cream because the weather was ... cold!!! Never, I tell you, NEVER!!!!
But those things I listed above are happening to people in VietNam now. They wear jackets!!! They hug each other on the street!!! Girls wear boots!!! People who drive cars turn off the air-con in their cars!!! They stop eating ice-cream, or eat less (thank God, my mom doesn't run an ice-cream company!!!), etc. etc. and etc. Why???? Why *bawl* does this never happen to me??? T___T"
Like here in Australia, Brisbane had been in drought before I came. Being in drought is something I had NEVER experienced (Malaysia has no drought problem, and so does Vietnam =="). But amazingly, when I came, it started raining O_O"!!! I had to go to school in the morning when it started drizzling. I had to go home when it was raining. I had to cancel my shopping plan during weekends because it rained like mad. And people around me kept telling me :"We, Australian people, are very happy because it rains".
Why does everything become so normal (and boring) whenever I appear??? I mean, hello??? Why can't I experience something that I had never experienced before???? Even a cold season in my freakingly hot country???? =="
So anyway *wipe my tears*, what I am going to show you is the scene in Sai Gon these days. Pics taken from kenh14.vn, a famous e-mag for teens in Vietnam.
This is a small park located right in the middle of the city.
You can have your morning coffee here with a reasonable price...
.. and have fun chatting with friends before you start your new day of work or study
We girls like these places too!!!
Also, I found this video (cut into 8 parts) on a website call vietzon.com. Have you ever heard of Top Gear? A famous program about cars and engines and stuffs? (Yea I know you have, Peter Oon =="). So anyway, this is an interesting show where they went to VietNam, went from the South to the North which are 2400+ km away from each other in 8 days, which was what the American failed to do 10 years ago. Who knows, after you watch this, you may like Vietnam. Or at least you can travel by eyes to Vietnam. Enjoy the video! =)
